Youth Folklore Festivals

Since 2013, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has held the Youth Folklore Festivals in the regions and cities of the country in order to preserve the national cultural heritage, draw the attention of young people to the patterns of ancient culture and promote them. The first festival was held on August 26-27, 2013 in Zagatala region with the participation of Zagatala, Shaki, Gakh, Oguz, Gabala and Balakan regions; the next festival was held on June 27-28, 2014 in Guba region with the participation of Khachmaz, Gusar, Guba and Shabran regions. According to the decision of the jury board consisting of specialists of the Institute of Folklore under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, in the festival held in Zagatala folklore groups from Zagatala region were awarded the Ist place, those from Shaki –IInd place, and those from Gakh - IIIrd place, and in the festival held in Guba folklore groups from Guba region took the Ist place, those from Shabran - IInd place, and those from Khachmaz - IIIrd place. The winners have been awarded the Youth and Sports Ministry's "Certificates of Honor" and valuable gifts; concerts with the participation of artists and fireworks have been organized.
