The 80th jubilee of the famous socio-political figure Samur Novruzov has been celebrated

The 80th jubilee of the famous socio-political figure Samur Novruzov was celebrated in the Azerbaijan State Physical Culture and Sports Academy on June 25, 2018.
Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, Minister of Culture Abulfez Garayev, Vice-Presidents of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade and Khazar Isayev, Deputy Secretary General of the NOC Azer Aliyev, President of the International Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Efendiyeva, deputies, friends of the jubilee and sports community representatives attended the event.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov stressed that Samur Novruzov is one of the most important personalities in the history of independent Azerbaijan statehood who had achieved great success in his career since his youth and repeatedly won the title of Azerbaijan champion and well-known basketball player in the former Soviet Union.
Vice President of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade stressed that the correct decisions taken by Samur Novruzov had always served the prosperity of our country.
The son of Samur Novruzov, Namig Novruzov expressed his gratitude for the organization of the event and memory of his father.
The event was continued with a concert program.
At the end of the event, the participants were presented the book "Life story of the personality" about Samur Novruzov's life and creativity.
